About AusCERT
The AusCERT Conference is the largest and oldest information security conference in Australia. Each year, we attract in the vicinity of 700 participants and approximately 60 sponsors. The conference is held on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast where the weather is fine and warm, even in winter. The conference is a great opportunity to discuss IT security issues, network with industry peers, see the latest in IT security products and services, and enjoy 5-star accommodation, good food, wine and entertainment, and good company.
AusCERT is the premier Cyber Emergency Response Team for Australia and provides computer information security advice to the Australian public, its members, including the higher education sector. We are a single point of contact for dealing with computer security incidents affecting or involving Australian networks.
About the AusCERT 2017 Conference
In 2017, the information security community needs to present a united front against cyber threats. We want YOU to participate, join, contribute and collaborate in your own way. TOGETHER our knowledge is a stronger force to build cyber security resilience.
United we stand against attackers, united we stand to combat and more importantly prevent incidents such as data breaches. Modern technology has evolved to unprecedented heights with storage, computing power and high speed data, however the “people” processes around sharing relevant information lag behind. If we’re to be truly united, we’ll need a fundamental shift in our collective mindset. How can we share threat intelligence data in a community, yet remain competitive individually? How can we break down walls between the public, private and education sectors?
